Softball Recap: Hockinson Comes Up Short

Hockinson lost against Columbia River back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hawks took a 17-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rapids. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hockinson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Renee Waddle, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Maggie Ritton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Hockinson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Columbia River, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hockinson will take on rival Washougal at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Columbia River is set to square off against their familiar foe Woodland at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
