Basketball Recap: North Sanpete Falls Despite Big Games from Sadie Job and Lucy Hiatt

North Sanpete lost against Manti back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The North Sanpete Hawks took a 50-35 bruising from the Manti Templars. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lucy Hiatt and Sadie Job certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Hiatt posted six points and seven rebounds, while Job put up 12 points and five boards. Madison Johansen was another key player, putting up two points and five boards.

Even though they lost, North Sanpete smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Manti's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was June Olsen, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Olsen has scored at least a third of Manti's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Olson, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards.

North Sanpete's record is now 6-15. As for Manti, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10.

North Sanpete didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-27 defeat against Emery on the 4th. Manti has also already played their next game (against Juab), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
