Recap: Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars vs. Wausa Vikings
This season hasn't been kind to the Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They took a serious blow against Wausa on Monday, falling 67-33. Niobrara/Verdigre has struggled against Wausa recently, as their matchup on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Wausa got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Preston Schlote out in front who scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Bloomquist, who scored 14 points.
Niobrara/Verdigre bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Wausa, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
