Softball Recap: Hahnville Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Hahnville came into Monday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Northshore Panthers by a score of 7-4 on Monday. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Jenna Cancienne spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Sophie Boudouin was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Jackson, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Hahnville's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Northshore, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-4.

Hahnville and Northshore should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. Hahnville (ranked 20th) will meet Central Lafourche (ranked 105th) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hahnville's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Northshore's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Similarly, Northshore will challenge Salmen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 141 places (64 vs. 205).
