Softball Recap: North Adams-Jerome Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

North Adams-Jerome took a 12-run loss the last time they faced off against Britton Deerfield, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rams came out on top in a nail-biter against the Patriots on Monday, sneaking past 12-11. The win was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Hailie Rice made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rice was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Miranda Daniels was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lydia Little, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

North Adams-Jerome pushed their record up to 5-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Britton Deerfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Adams-Jerome will challenge Waldron at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Britton Deerfield, they will take on Whiteford at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
