Baseball Recap: Bonnabel Beats Benjamin Franklin for Their Third Straight Victory

Bonnabel had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Benjamin Franklin Falcons as they made off with a 10-4 win. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

Garitt Downey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Zachery Desselle was incredible, scoring four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Bonnabel's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 9-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Franklin, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Bonnabel pushed their record up to 16-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Benjamin Franklin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Bonnabel will square off against Independence at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Benjamin Franklin, they will face off against Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
