Baseball Preview: Kaufman Lions vs. Red Oak Hawks
The Kaufman Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Red Oak Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kaufman has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 1st.
Kaufman will face Red Oak after dropping another heartbreaker against Midlothian on Friday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 2.1 of beating them. Kaufman fell 9-5 to Midlothian.
Kaufman got a good showing from Abraham Ramos, who struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Ramos has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Joshua Wofford was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Brody Burks also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
