Basketball Preview: Daniel Lions vs. West-Oak Warriors
Daniel has gone 9-1 against West-Oak recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Daniel Lions will be playing at home against the West-Oak Warriors at 7:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Daniel's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while West-Oak has been banged up by 13 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Daniel picked up another tournament win last Monday. They snuck past Collins Hill with a 66-60 win. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 37th in South Carolina, while the Eagles are ranked 127th in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Daniel can attribute much of their success to Tristyn Carrington, who went 8 for 15 on his way to 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, and Will Swann, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. That's the most points Swann has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Lipsey, who posted six points and three steals.
Meanwhile, West-Oak came up short against Greer Middle College on Monday and fell 53-43.
West-Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Daniel, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Daniel took their win against West-Oak when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 76-53. Will Daniel repeat their success, or does West-Oak have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
