Bergman came tearing into Thursday's match with 16 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 76-68 victory over the Sheridan Yellowjackets. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 54th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bergman's win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-1. As for Sheridan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Bergman will be playing in front of their home fans against Lamar at 5:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Lamar knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Bergman likes a good challenge. As for Sheridan, they will challenge Bauxite at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
