Preview: Oakwood Panthers vs. Richards Panthers
The Oakwood Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Richards Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
After a string of three wins, Oakwood's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 48-31 bruising from Avalon. Oakwood has not had much luck with Avalon recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Oakwood's loss came about despite a quality game from Jacee Youngblood, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Youngblood scored a full 54.8% of Oakwood's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Richards unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Round Top-Carmine.
Oakwood's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Richards, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-1.
