Basketball Recap: Providence Christian Comes Up Short on the Road Against Holmes County + How To Watch

Providence Christian had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Holmes County Blue Devils, falling 60-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since December 27, 2024.

Holmes County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacee Bowers led the charge by shooting 42% from the field on her way to 24 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those 24 points gave Bowers a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaysia Robinson, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 15 points and seven steals.

Holmes County has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Providence Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-25 loss against Dothan on the 20th. As for Holmes County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 53-49 win against Jay on the 21st.
