Softball Recap: Highland Springs Springers vs. Varina Blue Devils

Highland Springs's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 victory over the Varina Blue Devils. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Springers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Elise Fleming made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Fleming was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
