Green River and Pinnacle are an even 5-5 against one another since August of 2020, but likely not for long. The Pirates will be playing at home against the Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

After dropping their season opener at home, Pinnacle is headed out to face a Pirates team ready to give their home crowd a win. Green River came up short against Altamont on Tuesday, falling 8-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Longhorns: they've now lost six in a row.

Cristian Mendoza made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Quintana, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Pinnacle fell victim to Altamont and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 16-0 to the Longhorns.

Pinnacle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Howell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Everything went Green River's way against Pinnacle in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as Green River made off with a 15-0 victory. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
