Baseball Game Preview: North Baltimore Tigers vs. Leipsic Vikings

The North Baltimore Tigers will face off against the Leipsic Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Leipsic took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on North Baltimore, who comes in off a win.

North Baltimore had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Ridgedale on Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Rockets.

Elmwood hit Leipsic with a five-run sixth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings came up short against the Royals, falling 10-3.

Avery Paris made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

North Baltimore is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Leipsic, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.

North Baltimore was able to grind out a solid win over Leipsic in their previous matchup back in April of 2018, winning 5-2. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
