Trinity Christian's Nick Washington recorded the longest rushing play in 3A District 2 this season in his game against University Christian last week. Washington ran for 94 yards on the play and finished with 166 on the day as his team topped the Christians.
Trinity Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Oshay Carter threw for 48 and one touchdown and Isaiah Ford had 45 yards receiving. Deontai Williams helped Trinity Christian's passing attack out by catching one ball for three yards.
Trinity Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Conquerors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Carter has thrown for 351 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Ford has 13 catches for 208 yards. Washington leads the league in rushing with 319 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Verlon Dorminey's team takes on Bishop Snyder. The Conquerors' offense has recorded 113 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Cardinals have permitted only 199 on the year.
A big matchup in 3A District 2 this week will be when Trinity Christian takes on Bishop Snyder. As it stands, the Conquerors are in first, while Bobby Harrison's team is in fourth.
Providence made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,174 from 3,543. The advance stemmed from a 48-6 victory over the Stallions last week.
