Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Union Grove

Union Grove had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Racine Case on Monday. The Broncos were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Eagles. The victory was nothing new for the Broncos as they're now sitting on four straight.

Marlee Lange made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off ten hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Emma Santarelli was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Katie Madrigal, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Union Grove pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Racine Case, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Coming up, Union Grove will head out to take on Beloit Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Racine Case, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Kenosha Tremper at 4:30 p.m.
