Basketball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cocoa Beach on Thursday, Heritage came back down to earth. The Panthers were outmatched by the Centennial Eagles and fell 64-37.

Heritage's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oda Tveiten, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Ahmya Webster, who had ten points.

Centennial's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jada Parson, who put up six points along with 11 steals, seven assists, and seven rebounds. That's the most boards Parson has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakenzye McBride, who went 6-for-12 on her way to 15 points.

Heritage now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Centennial, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Heritage has already played their next contest, a 49-34 defeat against Timber Creek on the 28th. As for Centennial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-38 victory against St. Johns Country Day on the 24th.
