Baseball Recap: Notre Dame Prep Takes Down Ranked Campo Verde

Notre Dame Prep faced Campo Verde in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Saints came out on top against the Coyotes by a score of 6-1. The win continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Coyotes: they've now won three in a row.

Trystan Swayda tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025.

On the hitting side, Aidan Martinez was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Jericho Sargento, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Notre Dame Prep's victory bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Campo Verde, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-10.

Looking ahead, Notre Dame Prep will take on Brophy College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Campo Verde does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
