Volleyball Game Preview: Wheaton North Falcons vs. Hinsdale Central Red Devils

The Wheaton North Falcons will take on the Hinsdale Central Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wheaton North will be strutting in after a win while Hinsdale Central will be coming in after a defeat.

Wheaton North took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past St. Charles East 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Fighting Saints: they've now won eight in a row.

In the two sets Wheaton North was on fire: they won each by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-14, 25-10.

Wheaton North can attribute much of their success to Trey Hubner, who had 19 assists and five digs, and Owen Hubner, who had 17 assists. Those 17 assists gave Owen a new career-high. Tom?s Manrique also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Hinsdale Central came up short against Wheaton-Warrenville South on Monday and fell 2-0. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-10.

Hinsdale Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Wheaton North, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
