Dakota had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the North Boone Vikings on Monday as they made off with a 47-22 victory. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Hailey Kerchner was the offensive standout of the matchup as she posted 13 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynlee Sickles, who scored eight points and six boards.

North Boone is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Dakota will take on Pearl City in a tournament on Wednesday. As for North Boone, they and River Ridge/Scales Mound will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
