Baseball Recap: Newman Smith Gets the Win

Newman Smith let West Mesquite stack seven runs on them in the second inning on Thursday but luckily Newman Smith prevailed anyway. The Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Wranglers.

Newman Smith now has a winning record of 1-0-1. As for West Mesquite, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Newman Smith will venture away from home to face off against Nimitz at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. As for West Mesquite, they will host Grand Prairie at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday.
