Eagle is 9-1 against Mountain View since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Eagle Mustangs will host the Mountain View Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Eagle and six for Mountain View.

Eagle is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Meridian, who was ranked 18th at the time (Eagle was ranked 22nd). Eagle fell 52-44 to Meridian on Wednesday.

Andrew Palferman put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Eagle is 5-1 when Palferman posts ten or more rebounds, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Kunz, who posted eight points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Mountain View also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Rocky Mountain by a score of 74-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (62), the Mavericks still had to take the loss.

Eagle's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Mountain View, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Eagle strolled past Mountain View in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 56-42. Does Eagle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mountain View turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
