Basketball Recap: Harmony Science Academy's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Meridian came into Monday's contest looking for another win against Harmony Science Academy, but Isaac Guajardo-Tovar wouldn't allow it. The Harmony Science Academy Tigers snuck past the Meridian Lions with a 56-51 win on Monday thanks in part to Guajardo-Tovar, who posted 21 points. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Reese Herd, who earned seven points along with seven assists and five boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Harmony Science Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5. As for Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harmony Science Academy will host Varsity Opponent at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Meridian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Texas Empowerment Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
