Basketball Recap: Sunset Now 13-1 over Last 14 Games

Sunset won the last time they faced Hillcrest, and Keliah Thomas- Browne did her part to make sure it happened again. The Sunset Bison strolled past the Hillcrest Panthers with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 47-32 thanks in part to Thomas- Browne, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine steals. Thomas- Browne is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Hillcrest saw an underclassman step up: freshman Aubrey Norton went 5 for 12 en route to 16 points and six rebounds. What's more, Norton also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in November of 2024.

Sunset has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.6 points per game. As for Hillcrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.

Sunset will challenge Molina at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sunset's defense has only allowed 29.5 points per game this season, so Molina's offense will have their work cut out for them. Hillcrest has already played their next matchup (against South Oak Cliff), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
