Basketball Game Preview: Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans vs. The Carmel School Wildcats

The Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans will challenge The Carmel School Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Veritas Collegiate Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 games -- so hopefully The Carmel School likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Veritas Collegiate Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over TPLS Christian Academy, taking the game 65-55.

Meanwhile, The Carmel School won against New Hope Academy National on Wednesday with 74 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Carmel School walked away with a 74-66 win over Cristo Rey. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Royals are ranked 348th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Veritas Collegiate Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for The Carmel School, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.
