Soccer Game Preview: Estacado vs. Big Spring

The Estacado Matadors will challenge the Big Spring Steers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Estacado's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Estacado's offense. They came up short against Andrews on Tuesday, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, Big Spring had to endure a six-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past Pecos 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Big Spring were the better team in the second half.

Big Spring's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Estacado, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went Estacado's way against Big Spring in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, as Estacado made off with a 5-0 victory. Will the Matadors repeat their success, or do the Steers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
