Football Game Preview: North Canyon Rattlers vs. Alhambra Lions + How To Watch

The North Canyon Rattlers will face off against the Alhambra Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Friday, North Canyon took a blow against Copper Canyon, falling 44-14. While the Rattlers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Aztecs 14-7 in the first quarter.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Karlos Romandia, who threw for 184 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 34 yards. His passing game has become a key predictor of North Canyon's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 2-4 otherwise. Johnny Boggs was in the mix too, providing the Rattlers with two scores.

Meanwhile, Alhambra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Washington and fell 41-14. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

Alhambra's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for North Canyon, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Everything came up roses for North Canyon against Alhambra in their previous matchup back in October of 2021, as the squad secured a 56-6 victory. In that matchup, the Rattlers amassed a halftime lead of 42-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
