Oxford Academy has gone a perfect 3-0 against Portola recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Patriots will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 3:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Oxford Academy came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Artesia, falling 28-6.

Shay Tiettmeyer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Sierra, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Portola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 13-1 to University.

Portola now has a losing record of 4-5-1. As for Oxford Academy, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-4.

Everything went Oxford Academy's way against Portola when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Oxford Academy made off with a 21-3 win. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
