Basketball Game Preview: Belmont Charter Tigers vs. Bodine

The Belmont Charter Tigers will take on Bodine at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Belmont Charter beat Philadelphia Electric Charter 50-41. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Belmont Charter found their leader in sophomore Zymir Dessus, who posted 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for Dessus. Another player making a difference was Willie Williams, who earned nine points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bodine). They secured a 111-106 W over Penn Treaty on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for Bodine who have now won five contests in a row.

Bodine's win came from a few key players Belmont Charter will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nigeir Fisher, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 15 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.3 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Delisca, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds.

Bodine smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 19 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Bodine is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Belmont Charter, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Everything came up roses for Belmont Charter against Bodine in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 69-35 victory. Does Belmont Charter have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bodine turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
