Basketball Recap: Clinton Takes a Loss

Clinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 37th straight defeat dating back to last season. The contest between them and the Pleasant Valley Spartans didn't end well, with the Clinton River Kings falling 66-49. While losing is never fun, the River Kings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Spartans are ranked 81st).

Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Pleasant Valley, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton has already played their next matchup (against Central DeWitt), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pleasant Valley will face off against Muscatine at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Pleasant Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
