Football Game Preview: Hartshorne Miners vs. Warner Eagles

The Hartshorne Miners will venture away from home to square off against the Warner Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hartshorne will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

Hartshorne is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Chouteau-Mazie to the tune of 66-8 on Friday. The Miners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 20 points or more this season.

Hartshorne didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Caston Workman, Beau Williams, and Davantrae McKendrick picked up one apiece. McKendrick is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Warner's offense. They had to suffer through a 37-0 loss at the hands of Haskell. The Eagles' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Warner's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Hartshorne, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Hartshorne has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 229.4 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Warner, though, as they've been averaging only 84.4 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Everything came up roses for Hartshorne against Warner in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 48-19 victory. In that matchup, the Miners amassed a halftime lead of 28-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
