Basketball Recap: Cambridge Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Brady Ahlemeyer and Hodge Raburn

Cambridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 65-52 to the Pleasanton Bulldogs. The Trojans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in December of 2021.

Hodge Raburn and Brady Ahlemeyer certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Raburn posted 16 points in addition to six steals and five boards, while Ahlemeyer went 7 of 13 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. Ahlemeyer is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Krayton Ruggles, who had 11 points.

Pleasanton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brennan Lindner, who put up 18 points. The match was Lindner's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Zwiener, who posted 18 points.

Cambridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Pleasanton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Cambridge won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Anselmo-Merna at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pleasanton, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Ravenna at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
