Morgan Donovant made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 18 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabella Lott, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Maddy McDaniel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Oak Level Baptist Academy never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past True Gospel Christian 15-0.
Olive Carter was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Inman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Union Grove Christian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Oak Level Baptist Academy, their record now sits at 2-0-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Union Grove Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Oak Level Baptist Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
