Basketball Game Preview: Madison Warhawks vs. Coronado Islanders

Madison and Coronado are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Madison Warhawks will host the Coronado Islanders at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Madison will head into Friday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 29) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Mira Mesa out 55-53. The win was all the more spectacular given the Warhawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Marauders are ranked 88th).

Meanwhile, Coronado was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 73-72 to Point Loma.

Coronado has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Madison, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 12-6.
