Football Recap: Canyon View Jaguars vs. Campo Verde Coyotes        
        
		
             On Thursday, Canyon View faced Campo Verde in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Canyon View Jaguars walked away with  a   28-17  win over the Campo Verde Coyotes. The score was all tied up  14-14 at the break, but the Jaguars were the (much) better team in the second half.
 It was another big night for  Katelyn Jewell, who threw for 350 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.3% of her passes. She is  on a roll when it comes to  passing touchdowns, as she's  now  passed for three or more in the last eight games she's  played.
 Campo Verde's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Ella Mutters, who picked up 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of  Isabella Pap, who threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns.
 Canyon View pushed their record up to 11-1 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 45.3 points per game. As for Campo Verde, they moved to 12-5 with that  loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
 Canyon View will square off against Desert View at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few  points on average, (Canyon View: 5.3, Desert View: 13.2) so any  points scored will be well earned. As for Campo Verde, they will take on Alhambra at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Alhambra will roll in looking for their  eighth straight  win, something Campo Verde surely won't give up without a fight.
