Football Recap: Johnson Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Johnson fell victim to San Marcos and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 33-0 loss at the hands of the Rattlers. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 491st, while the Rattlers are ranked 119th).

Jonah Montgomery threw for 85 yards and one TD. Keane McGettrick was his top target, picking up 75 receiving yards and one touchdown.

It was another big night for Justin Tardy, who rushed for 131 yards and one score on only ten carries for San Marcos. Elliot Gray was another key player, rushing for 52 yards and one TD on only five carries.

Johnson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for San Marcos, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Johnson has already played their next game, a 28-7 loss against Canyon on the 3rd. As for San Marcos, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 30-13 win against Clemens on the 3rd.
