Football Recap: Cherokee Bluff Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cherokee Bluff can now relate to. They lost 53-28 to the Peach County Trojans on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Trojans are ranked 50th).

When it comes to explaining why Cherokee Bluff lost, don't look at Malcolm Millsap. Despite the final result, he picked up 176 receiving yards and one score.

It was another big night for Ashton Barton, who rushed for 253 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries for Peach County. Barton really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Another player making a difference was Samuel Sands, who threw for 154 yards and four touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Cherokee Bluff has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Peach County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1.

Cherokee Bluff does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Peach County, they will face off against Jenkins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 907 yards in their previous games.
