Spruce Creek entered their tilt with Flagler Palm Coast on Monday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-0 back in February.

Peyson Garcia made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other pitching news, CJ Asbill looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Lucas Badalato, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Sanders, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Spruce Creek's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Flagler Palm Coast, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spruce Creek will square off against Olympia at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Flagler Palm Coast, they will face off against Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
