Softball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Giles County's Winning Streak

After flying high against Battle Creek last Friday, Giles County came back down to earth. The Bobcats took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Athens Golden Eagles on Monday. The Bobcats' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Giles County's defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Athens, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-11.

Looking ahead, Giles County will head out to challenge Marshall County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last six games the Tigers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Athens, they will head out on the road to face off against Hartselle at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
