Triangle Math & Science hadn't done well against Chatham Charter recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Triangle Math & Science Tigers came out on top against the Chatham Charter Knights by a score of 38-25. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Triangle Math & Science had a senior duo take command as Noor Rana went 7 of 13 en route to 19 points and three steals and Zainab Mcelhinney dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Mcelhinney has become a key player for Triangle Math & Science: the team is undefeated when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 6-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Amritha Tatineni, who posted two points along with six steals and five assists.

Triangle Math & Science smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive games.

Despite the defeat, Chatham Charter saw an underclassman step up: freshman Peyton York made all 5 shots she took for 11 points. York is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games she's played.

Triangle Math & Science's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points over those games. As for Chatham Charter, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 10-13.

Triangle Math & Science wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 26-22 defeat against Eno River Academy on the 5th. As for Chatham Charter, they have also already played their next match, a 32-24 loss against Clover Garden School on the 4th.
