Recap: Clark Chargers vs. Christian Brothers Falcons

Even though the Christian Brothers Falcons scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, the Clark Chargers still came out on top. Clark skirted past Christian Brothers 59-57. Given Clark's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 15th in Nevada, while Christian Brothers is ranked 441st in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Among those leading the charge was De'Shaun Tolever, who scored 23 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Clark's points. Another player making a difference was Elijah Coleman, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 assists.

Christian Brothers' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamari Simpson, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds. The contest was Simpson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Exander Irving-Romero, who scored 13 points.

Clark now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Christian Brothers, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Clark will take on Douglas at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Douglas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday. Christian Brothers' road trip will continue as they head out to face Spanish Springs at 3:15 p.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully Spanish Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
