Football Recap: Thomas Stone Takes a Loss

Thomas Stone played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Great Mills Hornets 35-7. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Ethan Jackson threw for 77 yards and one TD. Jax Quebral was his top target, picking up 50 receiving yards. On the ground, Makhai Thompson rushed for 39 yards.

Leading Great Mills to victory were Kian Bush and William Carroll. Bush threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, while Carroll picked up 156 receiving yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Bush a new career-high in passer rating (160.4). Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Jae'Von Medley, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Thomas Stone's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Great Mills, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
