Basketball Recap: Mcbee Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

McBee had won eight straight home games dating back to last season and Tyrek Wright did his part to make it nine on Friday. The McBee Panthers walked away with a 61-49 victory over the Lee Central Stallions thanks in part to Wright, who went 7 of 12 en route to 22 points along with seven steals and five assists. That's the most steals he has posted since back in January of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jakari Holloman, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 15 points and eight boards. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Lee Central lost, don't look at Chuck Harry. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Jaquarius Davis was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

McBee is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which lines up perfectly with their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Lee Central, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the McBee Panthers duke it out with the Lewisville Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lee Central has already played their next game, a 73-56 loss against Marlboro County on the 18th.
