Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Has No Trouble Against Kings Christian

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Roosevelt had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Kings Christian Crusaders. The Rough Riders haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Xamuel Cerrato made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Cerrato was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Manny Molano, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Roosevelt is 6-1 when Molano posts two or more runs, but 9-10-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Lazalde, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Roosevelt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.

Roosevelt's record now sits at 15-11-1. As for Kings Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13-1.

Looking ahead, Roosevelt will host Torres at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Toros will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. Kings Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
