Basketball Game Preview: Hill Falcons vs. James Lick Comets

Hill has gone 8-2 against James Lick recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hill Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the James Lick Comets at 7:00 p.m. Hill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with 15 defeats in a row dating back to last season, Hill turned things around against Yerba Buena on Friday. They took down the Aztec Warriors 72-56. The Falcons' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ernesto Ochoa was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Gurshan Singh, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 14 points along with eight boards and six assists.

Hill was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, James Lick ended up a good deal behind Overfelt on Wednesday and lost 60-46. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

James Lick's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-12. As for Hill, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-14.

Everything came up roses for Hill against James Lick in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the squad secured an 80-37 win. In that matchup, Hill amassed a halftime lead of 42-20, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
