Softball Game Preview: North Stars vs. Mojave Mustangs

The North Stars will head out on the road to face off against the Mojave Mustangs at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. North is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, North made easy work of East Bakersfield and carried off a 15-3 victory. The Stars haven't had any issues with the Blades recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Kaitlin Branson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katherine Leask, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

North hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Mojave narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Palmdale Academy Charter School 16-14. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Mojave's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for North, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.
