After flying high against Rocky Mount Prep last Tuesday, North Edgecombe came back down to earth. The North Edgecombe Warriors took a hard 72-54 fall against the Kinston Vikings on Saturday. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Kinston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aleah Hill led the charge by going 9 of 12 en route to 21 points along with six boards and five steals. Hill is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of America Lloyd, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

North Edgecombe's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Kinston, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Edgecombe will take on SouthWest Edgecombe in a holiday battle at at 4:30 p.m. on December 21st. Kinston and J.H. Rose will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kinston is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season.
