Danika Saddoris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Breckin DeLaRosa was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Brimfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Knoxville on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 18 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Sawyer Drury made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Drury was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Brimfield let Kendyl Binder and Layni Linthicum run wild. Binder went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Linthicum went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Hersemann, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Brimfield's victory was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 30-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Riverdale, their record is now 26-5.
Both Riverdale and Brimfield just can't seem to miss. The Rams have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Brimfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
