Softball Recap: Stonington Takes a Loss

Stonington came into this matchup off a tough seven-run defeat last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Ledyard Colonels by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Colonels recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Stonington's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Ledyard, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stonington will head out to square off against Woodstock Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Centaurs have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Ledyard, they will take on Putnam at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
