Baseball Recap: Lacassine Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Lacassine had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They blew past the Bell City Bruins 13-1. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by eight runs or more this season.

Gabe Gott was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Hunter Vincent was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Lacassine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Lacassine pushed their record up to 12-12 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Bell City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.

Looking ahead, Lacassine will head out to square off against Kinder at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bell City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Welsh at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
